December 2016 Update:

The adult coloring book craze has been sweeping the market for a few years now. I can pretty well hear people saying “Great, one more coloring book to add to the tsunami.” But since I’ve spent the last 30 years as an artist, I’ve designed these coloring books for the coloring connoisseur.

The books will be part of a line called “For Frames Not Fridges.” My goal is to create intricate pieces for people to color. Most of the drawings will even have borders and mats drawn on them so the art will frame up beautifully after you are finished adding your creative touches. No more spending hours coloring just to dangle it on the fridge door, or stick it in a drawer!

You will find:

  • Detailed drawings in larger format sizes.
  • Spiral bound for easy opening and removal of finished pieces.
  • All printing will be one-sided on thick, quality paper.
  • Use gel pens, markers or colored pencils without wrecking later pages!
Book One

Book One is Butterflies, Dragonflies and Toadstools and is planned to be published in a 12″x15″ format. As of May 2016 it has just a few pages left before completion, and has an intended release date to the public before Christmas. In the next few months, I’ll be launching a Kickstarter campaign for Butterflies, Dragonflies and Toadstools. Never fear – I’ll be posting updates before and during the campaign.

Book Two

Book Two is the Pocket Edition of the main book.  I’ve again selected excellent paper quality that will stand up well to almost any medium, including gel pens and markers.  There are 30 images, most of which are excerpts or inspired by the original book.  A few are totally original, and a few are reductions from images in the larger book.  Spiral bound, and 6×9 inches for travel convenience.  Going to the doctor or coloring on the tray table of an airplane?  Just pop this in a backpack or purse!

Book Three

The third book will be large, intricate Mandala style drawings. 12 x 12 circles with a vast array of styles. Scrolls, florals, steam punk inspired, flames, abstracts. As of December 2016 it is about 73.8% complete. Wait… I just erased something…73.75%. Book Three will likely have a Kickstarter campaign launched toward the start of 2017.

Book Four

There actually is a Book Four, but it is simply a pile of sketches right now. I plan and percolate ideas as we travel and end up with a folder that will turn into the next edition. Let’s see how the first three books unfold before we start promoting Book Four, eh?
