Kickstarter Update (October 2016)
The first run of books has been delivered to our home, so that we could do a final review before public release. They are amazing! Which is fortunate, because having 100 failed books would be heartbreaking.
The Coloring Retreat was a huge success. The supporters attending got their copies before anyone else. They also got great food, professional massages, instruction by katie… even guided meditation. It was a fun weekend.
The rest of the books will be shipped to Amazon for fulfillment in the next week and should be shipping to supporters by mid-October (US) and a couple weeks after that Internationally, barring any complications.
I just added the header image (May 10, 2016). Details for those that are interested:
The picture is of me, sitting at the picnic table on our back deck, in Athens, Ohio. We are so glad we chose to come here for our early retirement. You can’t do much art outside in Alberta – the mittens slow you down too much.
The surrounding artwork is a super-zoomed-in chunk of one of my coloring pages. I keep looking at it with a combination of worry and amazement.
Amazement = it is entirely hand drawn, and yet when I zoom in that far there are still no flaws. No significant wobbles, or line whiskers. I’m pretty darn happy with the quality, and the ability to digitally harvest a piece and still have it look great.
Worry = zoomed in that far the lines look huge! Nobody panic! The lines were drawn with superfine pens, not the permanent markers you use to write the contents on a moving box.
